FROM INDIE QUEER CINEMA TO THE HOLLYWOOD MAINSTREAM, THE PINK LENS PUTS THE DEPICTION OF LGBT+ PEOPLE IN CINEMA IN THE UK UNDER THE MICROSCOPE.
THE PINK LIST - ACTORS
For decades, coming out of the closet was considered career suicide for the stars of the silver screen. Now, fifty years on from Stonewall, the list of LGBT+ actors and actresses appearing in cinema is growing bigger and bigger, as performers no longer feel the need to keep their sexuality behind closed doors. These stars have public visibility, which has given LGBT+ people the icons they need, seeing themselves reflected on screen, just as straight people do in most films since the dawn of cinema.

From classic Hollywood to the present day, The Pink Lens has compiled this list of the actors and actresses who have come out, or whose sexuality has been confirmed posthumously. From international megastars to European indie performers... get ready for THE PINK LIST!
